License Law
All Real Estate Agents need License Law every 4 years. The deadline for this class is the month of their license renewal - their birthday month..
How do you find out if you are up to date? This requirement is from the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC). Completion of this class, as well as the regular credit hours, are found on their site: https://grec.state.ga.us/licensed-professionals/education-requirements/real-estate/
Broker Education Requirements
This is a new requirement for 2025. Classes approved before this requirement was created do not qualify as a Broker class because they were not (could not be) submitted to GREC as a Broker class.
The rule goes into effect on July 1, 2025. If your Broker license renews this year and your birthday is in July, August or September, you can renew early (before July 1, 2025) under the old requirements. If your license renews this year and your birthday is in the last 3 months of the year, you must take 18 hours of Broker classes quickly.

Code of Ethics
REALTORS® need to take a New Agent Code of Ethics class when they start their career and must take Code of Ethics every 3 years. The current cycle of Code of Ethics ends in December of 2027.
How do you find out if you are up to date? This requirement is from the National Association of REALTORS® and completion confirmation can be found on your REALTOR® Board's site or the NAR® site: https://www.nar.realtor/my-account
Fair Housing
REALTORS® need to take an approved NAR® Fair Housing class every 3 years. The current cycle of Code of Ethics ends in December of 2027.
How do you find out if you are up to date? This requirement is from the National Association of REALTORS® and completion confirmation can be found on your REALTOR® Board's site or the NAR® site: https://www.nar.realtor/my-account
Which Classes Satisfy these Requirements?
Only classes approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission as Broker classes or License Law classes fulfil these specific requirements. It is not the title of the class that determines credit.
Code of Ethics and Fair Housing completion courses can be taken:
On the NAR® site for free (Code of Ethics) or for a small charge (Fair Housing).
REALTOR® Boards provide these courses.
Schools approved by GREC can provide REALTOR® classes for Code of Ethics and Fair Housing credit in addition to the 3 hours of CE credit but the REALTOR® completion must be provided to the REALTOR® Boards separate from the entry of the 3 hours of CE credit in the GREC system.
When the classes are submitted for approval to GREC, the school can request credit as a Broker class or License Law class.
Each class for each school has its own course code. They are different classes for the purpose of qualifying for CE credit or Broker credit..
